Friday & Monday, April 3 & 6, 2015


Welcome to Week 2 of PR 2, March 30-April 3

  • Please—Go to the class website. Wait quietly for instructions, however...Take a few minutes to read the class agenda below.
  • MOCK INTERVIEWS- May 7 & 8. 
    You will need to have a passing resume to meet with a Business Partner. There are no scheduled make-ups for this assignment. If you miss the experience, you will need to request, schedule and complete  a make-up interview with one of our DD Administrators- Mr. Florez, Mr. Talley, Ms. Webster, Mr. Haner, Ms. Vancil by May 31.


Learning Targets: 

  1. Students will know the five key parts/sections to a resume. 
  2. Students will explain the why resumes have a certain visual look and structure
  3. Students will know the key information necessary for an effective resume and why.
  4. Coming up: Students will identify post-secondary education  options based on their survey results.

ACTIVITIES:
  1. Open the link at the bottom of this page: How To Write A Resume
  2. Read slides 1-14 (together in class)  and then go to FW #9. 
      
  3. Now you are ready to write an objective for your resume and begin the process of resume writing.
    Read section 2 of the Resume Tutorial.
    Complete the Job Objective Handout.

Friday & Monday:
Learning Target: 

  1. Students will know the key information necessary for an effective resume and why.

FREEWRITE: Finish FW 8 and 9 if you have not done so.


ACTIVITIES

  2. Complete the Job Objective handout
  3.                         Education handout
  4. Download the resume template: save as -  PDx_your name_resumedraft1
  5. Substitute your information for Personal information as per the slide.
  6. Substitute your job objective for template jargon.
  7. Work on other incomplete work
 
For those who wish to receive credit at Mt. Hood Community College, I will have about 10 minutes to sign up for the class.  The class is "HD110" and section "80".  For grade, use "LT".  You need to use an email address that is different than the schools since outside emails do not go to you.
You will have to go to the Mt. Hood Community College to start the process.
