Activities: Students you will work on the following today:

1. Account set-up (See tutorial below)
Google Drive folder, FreeWrite document and sharing work.
 

      2.   Learn how to access the FreeWrite assignment slides and complete tasks:

      3.  Work Place BasicsEssential Skills for Success  30 min  (Link to "Handout") Fill in using the typing tool in Google Docs. You will have to make a "copy" and put your name on it and leave the rest of the title intact. Such as "Name_work_place_basics_video_handout"

      4.   Discover aspects of your self through self-assessments (Next class): 
​FW #3 Surveys: What Kind of Student Am I?    Copy the results into your FW (1st column under date) and answer the questions on the slide.

Take a few minutes to read the class page below and become familiar with the site.

Note: With a pencil or pen, please complete any handout that has been given to you.
 You will turn in work in one of two ways: 1)  at the end of a task, you will pass your work to the center aisle with your group; 2) work will go into a TURN IN folder found in the class basket or out during class on the book case by the door. 

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:
Mock Interviews will occur on the following dates:
Semester 2 —Thursday and Friday, May 5 and 6
You must attend one of the sessions to receive full credit for the interview.

Homework:
Turn in the Paceography to the  "TURN IN" top tray as you walk out the door.
Take it home to complete and bring to the next class.

Take the Syllabus home, have your parents sign it and place it in "TURN IN" top tray.
You have two weeks to turn the Syllabus in for extra credit.

You are responsible to find an administrator and arrange for your own interview if you did not interview! However, due to time constraints, you may find a willing staff member to conduct your interview but you are responsible to arrange it.

Today's classes:
 
  1.  Finish the Thank You  Note "Reflection and Thank You"
  2. Work on final project, section 2 & 3. See tutorial below and follow.
           Job Preparedness—  List and explain the key steps for preparing for the interview.
           Resume development; Dress for the Interview, the Big 4,
           Make resume changes and place into slide. We will do this together in class.
        

          Provide picture of self or choose from "Student View".
          This will be your chapter title picture.
          We can manipulate this in Photoshop.


Work on the final project.  The first slide is a title slide.  Simple enough.  The next slides are either in your freewrites or individual documents.  When working on the final project, refer to the slide tutorial at the LINK: FINAL PROJECT 2016

Final Project Scoring Guide
There are 22 slides above (23 less extra credit one equals 22).  Each slide is worth 4 points.  That is a total of 88 points.  Add in the 10 points each for "Conventions", "Organization & Structure", and "Presentation Appeal", and that will total 118 points.  Divide that by 4 and times by 3 and the total points for the Final is 88.5 points.  I had to drop numerous slides and points due to the weather.

If you are already admitted to Mt. Hood or received a student id number when your applied for admission, then the class is "HD110" section "80".  My name will appear as one of the classes.  Select it and then add for Winter term 2016.

  1. Part 2 of the Thank-you letter: How to Write a Thank You  Letter
    Please be mindful when writing your final draft- leave a margin left and right.

    Write on the inside of the card.
    ​Start text far enough down to leave most white space at the top end of the card.
    Include a date, the salutation- Dear Mr. or Ms. ......, and the closing, which is lined up under the date.  Carefully review the example.
