Dear Class:

We will be having visitors from the College and Career Center today to talk with you regarding your plans.  Also presented will be terms that you may or may not be familiar with!

We will continue with the resumes.  I will be speaking with you individually about the resumes handed in.  In the meantime, please go into CIS

Use the following:
Username:  cpcc
Password:  mthood

Go to  "Occupation" and then "Occupation Sort".   Go through the "Sorts" and verify that the career you have in your Objective is there.   Go to the job you want in the group, go to "Skills and Abilities" to the left side and check what they desire for that job.  This should mimic what you have for your skills...hopefully.  Take a "print screen" of the window and paste it in a document.

Under this screen shot, do the following as a freewrite:

 respond to these questions:
   1)  What is your chosen career occupation?
   2) What skills do you have that are required in this field?
   3) Why do you think this choice is a good one for you?
If you did not find the career that you believe you want to pursue, state your career choice preference and answer questions 1, 2 & 3 above.
Note: you do need to choose an occupation as a focus for your resume, whether you think this is your ideal career or not.

What is a One-LIner:  Read page 11 of the one-liners handout in Resume Workbook.
 4) State the definition of a one-liner.
 5) When is a one-liner not an action statement?

Continue with the resumes from here...This should reinforce your resume and maybe get you to think about your resume from a different angle.

I want a finished resume today!!!!  Print out and hand in.

Sincerely,
Mr. Green-Hite
