Students will know that through reflection, and analysis, they can draw upon personal experience, behaviors and acts to identify personal skills and attributes that will transfer to the workplace.

Create a Google document. Label it: PDx_FullName_CIS Skills Summary. Copy and paste (or make screen shot) the three results from your CIS account- Skills Summary, Holland Personality Summary and the Occupational Clusters.

Start your first free write:

Copy the learning target for this week. Then... Respond to this question in a short paragraph (7-10 sentences minimum) -

What did you learn about your skills and abilities from completing the activities - Interest Profiler, Work Importance Locator, and Skills Assessment? Give a least one example from each assignment to illustrate how your personal experiences might have led to the final result.

Example 1 - In the Skills Assessment task I stated that I can successfully create/draw a portrait worthy of an "A", art recognition award, etc. I matched this accomplishment to the "Perceptual" skills 21, and 23-26. The results of the assessment showed that I was very artistic at a score of 63 for the Holland Pers. Types and a 40 in the Arts and Engineering, Occupational Clusters. This was more evident, when I looked at my Work Importance Locator results. It showed that...

We will be getting on CIS (this is the link)

After completing the Interest Profiler, you will be presented with a rating of your interests sorted by percentage. Choose the top 2 interests, those with the highest score and research careers/occupations. Post these occupations in your freewrite along with a general description of the career. Include your top two interests in your summary. This means you will have to create a new document in your google docs entitled "Freewrite". You will be freewriting something every day that class meets and will, from here on in, be at the beginning of the class.

Reflection 2: Complete page 4 of the "Thinking About Me" called "Work Place Importance Locator". About a 15 minute activity.

We will finish watching the "Randy Pausch" video today (PDF file). You will be answering the questions in your freewrite after putting in the date and copy the questions over. Reflection/Analysis: Skills Assessment Questions.

Take the test. Answer questions as honestly and thoughtfully as you can. Create a Google doc that has screen shots of each of the interest survey's you have taken- Interest Profiler results, Skills Assessment Summary and the Work Importance Locator and this one.

Compare the results of this test to your Interest Profiler results, Skills Assessment Summary and the Work Importance Locator. At the bottom of the screen shots add your responses to these questions or statements. If you are using a 3 column template, write your answer in the third column next tot the screen shots.

Explain how these results match your personal opinion of who you are. Give a few examples.

Review the Self-Awareness and Personal Growth and the Career Choices links by clicking on each of them. Write a summary of the information presented- at least 3-5 sentences.

Today's Learning Target is:

Reflection 1: Finish completing the "Thinking About Me" hand out pgs. 1-3, given last class. 10-15 minutes. Skip page 3 questions about interest surveys you have taken. You have not done that yet. Last period we finished up the video and its related questions and saved a file which was placed into your shared folder that I am able to check on.
