We have done the CIS "Interest Profiler" that is at the website for CIS.
Remember, we will revisit this "Interest Profiler" next week!

You will be meeting with your counselors soon.  As a preliminary, I want you to create a document entitled:  Next Year's Classes.  Create a table with two columns and 9 rows.  In the top rows, put in Semester 1 and Semester 2. Create next years two semester's classes that you dream about...

We will be looking at careers using the "Looking At Careers, It’s Never Too Soon" worksheet that will be filled out.  You need to "open with" google docs.  The actual video is located at:  Video Link .

 Please complete the Budget ReflectionSecond Copy Budget Reflection Make a copy, delete the "Copy of" and put your name in its place.  This should take no longer than 15 minutes

We will be doing the CIS "Interest Profiler" that is at the website for CIS The user name is "ddouglas" and the password is "ddhs".  You need to create an account.  When you get done creating the account, and pasted in the "Interest Profiler", put your user name and password above the pasted picture.  This is required!   Go to the tab "Exploration", then "Interest Profiler".  Answer all 172 questions to the best of your ability and then copy and paste the screen(s) (whole thing will not fit on one page) into a document you created named "LastName_Interest_Profiler".  You may have to redo...sorry....

FreeWrites/Warm-Up:  
  • Warm-Up: Take the Meyer's Briggs survey. Copy and paste your results into a Google document: Create a doc and label it: FullName_MeyersBriggs.

Due today:

Refined Budget that brings your income down to "$0" for the end of the month (remember, this should not be living "Paycheck to Paycheck" scenario.  Rather, you should have money put away in the savings.   All of the information was found in the Budget Presentation (Link to it).   Make sure you support what you are doing in column "F" by answering the questions in that column.  I also need to see the "% of MONTHLY GROSS" which should be NET.  I will be grading this over the weekend.

This is the class page/website. Everything we need to know or do is posted here.
Take a few minutes to read the class page below and become familiar with the site.


Note: With a pencil or pen, please complete any handout that has been given to you.
  •  You will turn in work in one of two ways: 1)  at the end of a task, you will pass your work to the center aisle with your group; 2) work will go into a TURN IN folder found in the class basket or out during class on the book case by the door. 

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:
Mock Interviews will occur on the following dates:
Semester 2 —Thursday and Friday, May 5 and 6
You must attend one of the sessions to receive full credit for the interview.

  3. Getting to know others--Connections --20 min
  4. What I know about getting a job. —10 min
  5. How do I support myself? - 10 min.

Exit/ End of class:

Homework:
Turn in the 
Paceography to the  "TURN IN" top tray as you walk out the door.
Take it home to complete and bring to the next class. 


Take the Syllabus home, have your parents sign it and place it in "TURN IN" top tray

You have two weeks to turn the Syllabus in for extra credit.
