Dear Class:

Together:  Create Table of Contents slide, Junior and Senior Year slides.

 1 >  Look at your Careers Handout.
        Go to slide 17 of the Final Project Tutorial- Section 2: Who Will I Become.
        Create the following slides--
  • Slide 1: Make a copy of your Venn Diagram from your CIS Skills Summary and paste it into a slide. This is a Venn diagram or table.  What skills do you have for the job?  What skills do you need for the job? Which of your skills match the skills for the job? 
  • Slide 2: Write a plan on how you plan to acquire these on a second slide or how you will broaden these if you do possess them.
  • Slide 3: Your chosen career. Describe your career choice based on the information from your “Careers Tree” handout.  See page 2, item #3 of the Careers handout.
  • Slide 4- 6 : See slides 18-20 in tutorial about careers. You will use the Careers handout for these slides.
  • Slide 7: Fix your resume following the Mock Interview to reflect the changes needed- margins, typos, skills revised to match the job and you. Compare your skills listed on your resume to the skills in the middle of your Skills Summary/Venn diagram or table. Write a comparison on another slide: How does your resume reflect your career objective?

Should be done or close to done with the first part of the Final Project "Who am I".   Almost 
all the information is in your first free write document.  If not done with "Who am I",
then look through the first part of the Final Project PowerPoint

2 >   IF YOU HAVE NOT ....Write your final draft of a Thank you letter to your interviewer.    Follow the tutorial  20 minutes.
     
  This draft needs to 

  • Be an error free draft in order for you to get the final "card".  It should not have any misspellings, contractions or omitted words. I should show margins to the left and right and lettering large enough for most folks to be able to read..  
  • Include: 2-3 specific and appropriate comments from the back side of your reflection handout.
  • Proof your writing. Have your partner proof your writing. 
  • Commas follow the last name, and "Sincerely".  There is no "th" after the day. Spell out the month/ see the example.
  • Use the interviewer's last name only and Ms. for women.

  • Make a copy of the above document and fill it in.  You will be doing a thank you card based on what you put in this reflection.

    Practice interview introductions: smile, eye contact, introduce yourself (first and last name), give a firm hand shake;

    Closing: repeat S/EC/ FHS  and ...
     "Thank you for seeing me today Mr ...  . I appreciated your ........"

    Have 2 questions for the interviewer.
