Reminder >>>>>>
If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to go to the class website, read through the weekly agenda, find the work you missed, and complete it.

Learning Targets:
Students will --
Identify work and education experience that is related to work world.
Identify one strong career potential as your resume objective based upon your research.
Know the five parts to a resume- personal information, job objective, education, work history and skills.

All Classes

1) Create a document entitled "Name_Mock Interview Questions".

Mock Interviews are just around the corner.  In order to do as well as you can, it is always important to prepare and practice.  To this end, answer the following questions using complete sentences.  These will be some of the same questions asked of you during the Mock Interview, so it is imperative that you think about how you will answer these questions in a thoughtful, business like way.  Always be positive, never make excuses, explain how you are working on your weaknesses (and you should be), and give specific measurable results for your skills.

  1. What are your personal strengths and weaknesses?
  2. What jobs have you had in the past, and what have you learned from them?
  3. What skills and abilities do you bring to the job  site?
  4. How would you handle working with difficult people?
  5. How would you feel about working with small groups to accomplish a task?
  6. How do you spend your free time?
  7. Would you rather work with other people or by yourself?  Why
  8. What are you doing now to prepare for the future?

2) Watch "Powerful Resumes"

3)  Download the Resume Template you previously worked on and finish it today.
Upload the resume at the end of the class period.

4)  Hand in the finished copy of the resume with the grading sheet.  Both you and another student will put your names on the top and grade it.  I will be looking these over this weekend and the more work I have to do to correct the resume to make it acceptable the less of a grade I will award.

5)  Applying for admission to Mount Hood Community College for "College Now".  You need to use your personal email as a David Douglas HS email will not allow for outside the DDSD emails to come through and that means that you will not get your student id number to register for the class in two weeks.  This is done at this site:  Mt Hood CC

DO THIS WHEN YOU FINISH EARLY:  work on any incomplete work first, then your final project. When working on the final project, refer to the slide tutorial we have been following. NEW LINK: FINAL PROJECT 2016
