Dear Class:

Today you will be pulled out of class, head to the library, and talk to a counselor.  During that time you will:

  2. You found a job for which you wish to apply. You may not have all of the skills necessary to do the job. What does this article say you should do and not do?
  3. How would transferable skills help you in seeking a job?
Practice your interview skills by asking your partner a few of the questions and in turn they ask you to respond to a few questions. Remember to speak in complete sentences.  10-15 min.

  1. ​Open the How to Write a Resume Tutorial/Instructions found below under tutorials or click this link. Go to slide 24 and read the slide.
  2. Follow the instructions presented on slides 25-28 as well as on the handout. We will do this together as a class. 
  3. Complete the handout to generate 6-9 one-liners appropriate for your resume.
    These skills should relate to your chosen job and the one-liners should describe your abilities and accomplishments in business language.
    Refer to FW #13, item 4 to refresh your memory on the difference between an accomplishment and a simple task.
