Week of March 9-12, 2015


Welcome to week 6 of PACE,  March 9-12, 2015
  • START EACH CLASS PERIOD ON TIME AND IN YOUR ASSIGNED SEAT.
  • TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO READ THE DAILY AGENDA POSTED BELOW.
  • No school Friday, March 13-- Progress Report/ Grading Day
    See what is due and will be on the progress report card at the bottom of this page.

Learning Targets: 

  1. Students will know how to analyze survey data to identify and explore career opportunities related to their interests and personality type.
  2. Students will determine which careers they are most interested in pursuing in their career exploration. 
  3. Students will identify skills they have based on  personal experience.
  4. Coming up: Students will identify post-secondary education  options based on their survey results.

Monday & Tuesday

FREEWRITE:

      
     # 5   60 Minutes: Amazing Kids. Suggest you take notes since you will have your monitors off!  Please be silent during this video.  I will put students in the hall if they wish to chat during the video.  I will mark my book that I did so; you can then do it on your own with a grade no higher than a "C".
      
ACTIVITIES

  1.  Freewrite #1B  Put as a separate document titled "Paceography" and then follow the instructions from Freewrite #1 B.
  2. Identify skills you have from your personal experience by completing the CIS Skills Worksheet. See the activity instructions in the Lesson Tutorial section at the bottom of this page. Learning Target 3

  • Do the activity below on a sheet of paper
#5a Partner assignment: Look up definitions of  the terms- skills, abilities; traits, characteristics and interests. 
  • How do these differ from your definition written last week? Write an example of how either of you may have these personal aspects.
    Which of these do you think should be included in a resume and why?
    Be ready to share with the class.
  
  • Move to the activities section when done. 

ACTIVITIES: 

  1. We will finish matching skills to our personal accomplishments
  2. Complete the MyRoad Careers Analysis- this is a handout.  See Learning Targets 1 & 2.
  3. Finish 3-Way Interview Reflection with your group. We will share our discoveries in class. 
  4. Take the MyRoad Majors Survey. Go to slide 35 and read through the section. Complete the MyRoad Majors Analysis handout. 
  5. If you are caught up with your Who Am I assignments: FW 1-4, MOPPA, MyRoad Careers.... you may... 
  • Extra credit: FW 4— Who Are You Meant To Be survey.
  • Begin section 1 of your Final Project. See the slide tutorial below.
