Dear Class:
Learning Targets:
- Students will know the key information necessary for an effective resume and why.
- Students will be able to use personal experiences to generate a resume.
ACTIVITIES:
- YOU WILL NOT NEED YOUR COMPUTERS FOR THIS LESSON ACTIVITY.
INSTRUCTIONS ARE ON THE HANDOUT.
- Complete the Job Objective, Step 2 of the resume. They should have finished FW 9 to do this step. They can also catch up on their unfinished classwork- CIS Skills Worksheet, FW #9, and /or the Careers handout. The instructional tutorials are also at the bottom of the web page to follow. They will need to get their work from their folders for this. Folders are located in the bookcase to the left of my desk.
- Complete the Education History handout (some of you may already have this) to complete.
- Complete the Work History handout
together in class (second handout). Follow the instructions presented on your handout
and as explained on the projected Resume Tutorial
- Work on any assignment not yet completed- The Venn diagram showing your skills from the CIS Summary, the skills for the job and the skills you have that match the job (See CIS Skills Activity Instructions), your Careers handout from MyRoad exploration, FW's not completed, etc.
- Switch papers with your partner sitting next to you and correct each other's papers- check for spelling, capitalization, punctuation and following instructions. Fix errors your partner finds.
HANDOUTS WILL BE TURNED IN AT THE END OF THE PERIOD.
