Dear Class:

Freewrite:

WHY YOU WILL FAIL TO HAVE A GREAT CAREER 15:15min

Reflection Questions: How does it make you feel about your career choice? What new fact did you learn? Did it make you change your mind about your current career goal?

FINISH WHAT YOU STARTED Activities:

1) Continuing Learning Target: You will write a professional thank you note. WRITE A FORMAL THANK YOU CARD

Rewrite your thank you letter draft on the lined template provided, following the appropriate letter structure- salutation, body, closing. Include something specific from the interview in your letter's body. Proof your work for structure, spelling, grammar and sentence fluency. Have someone near you proof your draft. Make the necessary corrections and rewrite your letter on the back side of your template. When you are confident that your last draft is "perfect", request a card. The card will be hand written in blue or black ink only. The text on the draft will be centered or placed on the card so you can see where to begin.

C- HOW DO I GET THERE

1.) Bring closure to the MOMENT (Mock Interview Wrap-up).
Learning Target~ Students will be able to write an appropriate business thank you card.
Activity: Writing a Business Thank You note.
1. Complete page 3 of your Mock Interview reflection, which is to write a draft of a thankyou note.
2. Place your date, Dear Mr. X and Sincerely, Your Name in the correct area of the draft.

Note: Reread page 2 because you should include something that you remember about the interview.

3. Proof your draft for missing words, sense, punctuation and capitalization. Have a peer in your row also proof your draft.
4. When you are ready to write your 2nd draft have a black or blue ink pen ready.
5. Follow the guidelines of the template to carefully copy your first draft, correct word for correct word, on the lines. You may use 2 lines if you write big.

This should be done in your BEST handwriting.

6. Proof your draft again for errors.
7. If all is well you are ready to copy your 2nd draft onto a card.
8. Center your draft so you get an idea of where to begin writing and know where you will end.
9. Carefully copy your thank you message onto the card. Proceed slowly and thoughtfully. Pay close attention to the card edge to maintain an even margin all around.
10. Return any borrowed materials and wait to turn in your card at the end of class.
11. Thank you for being thoughtful of others and contributing to a successful Mock Interview Event. Move on to the 7 Habits assignment.

Sincerely,
Mr. Green-Hite
