Welcome Sophomores, Juniors, & Seniors!

Students:
This is the class page/website. Everything we need to know or do is posted here.
Take a few minutes to read the class page below and become familiar with the site.

Note: With a pencil or pen, please complete any handout that has been given to you.

 You will turn in work in one of two ways: 1)  at the end of a task, you will pass your work to the center aisle with your group; 2) work will go into a TURN IN folder found in the class basket or out during class on the book case by the door. 

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE:
Mock Interviews will occur on the following dates:
Semester 2 —Thursday and Friday, May 5 and 6
You must attend one of the sessions to receive full credit for the interview.

Learning Targets: Students will -- Know the acronym PACE, the purpose  of this class,  and how it will benefit them.  Know how to navigate the class website to complete class work. Understand the value of self-assessments. ​You will have a quiz on these later in the week.

Monday & Tuesday Today we plan on engaging in the following activities:  Sharing a bit about ourselves-- Fill out the Paceography handout  —15 min. 2 T's and a L—5 min. Turn in when requested. Desk tag.  What is PACE? What will we do? How can one be successful? --     Syllabus —20 min  PACE introduction and account set-up presentation.   slides 1-8 Getting to know others--Connections --20 min What I know about getting a job. —10 min How do I support myself? - 10 min. Exit/ End of class: Homework: Turn in the Paceography to the  "TURN IN" top tray as you walk out the door. Take it home to complete and bring to the next class. Take the Syllabus home, have your parents sign it and place it in "TURN IN" top tray. You have two weeks to turn the Syllabus in for extra credit. Know what PACE means and what it means to you.

Today we do the final.

The groups for period 7 are:  List

Each of you will get a scoring sheet.  Put your name where it says "Student".  The students that are grading the exam will appear to the left of that name.

The student presenting will be at his/her station, present, and then turn in the grading sheet.

This whole experience should take about 45 minutes.  When you are done, please study for your other finals and good luck.  Please do not make noise as other students are studying!

       Activities: Students, you will work on the following today:  

1. Section 3:
   > Education Plan reflection. See tutorial slides-
   > Mission Statement
   > Citations  Use David Douglas High School Site Library "GALE, OSLIS, LearningExpress Library & Citation Maker"  Link
2. Catch up on other slides. 
3. Check each slide for grammar, punctuation and spelling
4. Check each slide for matching the font type, size and 
5. PhotoShop lesson for those finished with building slides and content.

 You must cite all of your pictures for credit.   If they are not cited, I will actually deduct points since the issues of copyright violation is apparent.

• identify relevant programs of study
• develop a post-secondary education plan.

Today's Target:

 Budget for your chosen job Link

You will be putting in your budget copy from the job you had originally.   Then redo.

1. Complete 3 slides related to post-secondary planning--
   Create a high school course plan- see example.  Go to your StudentVue for next years classes.  (Curriculum Guide)
   Create and post-secondary course plan.
   Summarize in a table your findings about each school researched.
2. Finish your career budget. Did you properly label it?
3. Work on final project slides not yet completed.  Sample
   Create citations for work and images. 
4. Look at copying and pasting your web sites to final slide.

      Activities: Students, you will work on the following today:​

1. Create table for Education Plan
2. Finish other assignments — Career Budget, Section 1 and 2
3.  Upload all work to your Google Drive
4.   Insert budgets into final project
5.   You need to have a final slide with the web sites that you got pictures from!  We will be doing citations on those sites.  If I see 6 pictures and no sites you got them from, I will severely take away points due to copyright infringement!

Next week: we will add images to slides if all of your content is present.
