Freewrite: Take the Meyer's Briggs Interest test today and record your results in the next row of your Freewrite dated today.
Results to record: A description of your 4 letter results and the types of jobs suited to your personality type. Do these results match what you previously learned from the Work Locator and Interest Profiler? How are these results similar or not? What insight did you gain from this exercise?
Complete the CIS: Skills Assessment (copy and paste of your skills and a copy and paste of the skills for your "chosen" job you worked on last week. Learning Target: Students identify skills that match their accomplishments. Task:
Read Step 1 instructions of the skills: List at least 5 accomplishments. Read Step 2 & 3 of the skills: Match each of the 72 skills to at least one of your accomplishments and check the appropriate box in the table. Read Step 4 of the handout: Choose the top 5 Very Satisfying skills- these are the skills that have been chosen for one or more accomplishments. Choose the next 10 Moderately Satisfying Skills and label them SS Choose the next 20 Somewhat Satisfying Read Step 5 of the handout and post your summary on your CIS Skills Summary page. Unit Announcement:
This week we bring our CIS activities forward to help us 1) determine our career/job goal to develop a job objective; and 2) match our interests and personal skills to those skills and attributes used and required in the business community. Over the next several weeks, we will then use these goals,objectives, and our interests and skills to translate them into business language to create an effective resume. Learning Target: Students will reflect on their experiences and actions to identify skills that transfer to the business community.
Task: Complete pages in the Resume Workbook as follows:
Cover- write your name, class period in the top right hand corner. Also write "SAVE", large and bold. Do not lose this booklet and bring it to every class.
Inside Cover, under the Table of Contents- write you full name and class period only. Do not fill in your phone number, address or email address.

PGS. 3- 6- Complete each one of these numbered sections. WRITE IN COMPLETE SENTENCES. Full credit of 2 pts each given for thoughtful, complete work. Total value= 30 pts, max poss= 32.

Instructions: Find the correct date for your Freewrite. Read the questions/statements completely. Respond to the questions/statements in the appropriately dated boxed row of your freewrite. Include the question in your response and number each response statement. Be thorough and write in complete sentences.
Grading- Each response is worth up to 5 points however, extra points can be earned for exceptional reflective thinking and well written response. Quantity is not always quality but minimal thinking is not a guarantee success either. Perform to your best level.
Respond to these questions after you have completed “Thinking About Me “ and the “Interest Profiler” Write a minimum of 4 to five 5 complete sentences. These questions may help: 1 What are your interests? Have your interests changed over the past year? How? What careers have you identified that reflect your interests? 2 What did you learn about yourself from the career assessments you used? 3 What strengths and talents do you have? What careers have you identified that use these strengths and talents?
Learning Target- Students will identify 1-2 key interests and find 3 careers related to it from the CIS website. A) After completing the Interest Profiler, you will be presented with a rating of your interests sorted by percentage. Choose the top 2 interests, those with the highest score and research careers/occupations. Post these occupations in a new google doc the will be entitled "Name_Interest Occupations" and include a general description of each career. Include your top two interests in your summary. See CIS- INTEREST PROFILER, STUDENT SCORE REPORT. B) Complete page 3 of the Thinking about me.
New assignments: Learning Target- Students will know the consequence of copyright infringement as it pertains to music. Complete Reading Assessment- Copyright Infringement handout. Learning Target- Students will identify 30 skills fitting within a hierarchy of satisfaction- very, moderately and somewhat satisfying. Read the handout instructions to CIS-Skills Assessment and complete the handout. When you are finished place your top 30 skills in order of preference in your CIS Skills Assessment Activity page.

First, please open up your gmail, go to your Drive, and open up the document entitled "Article Reviews". In the next box down, put the date as "2/1/2013" or "2/4/2013" (today's date) and then read the following article on Soda Pop Ban The questions: Do you, as the reader, think that NYC should ban large drinks? What is the reason behind only "large" drinks? What are the arguments against this law? Do you think it is a good idea?
I want you to register for CIS. You will be going into the site and sign in using "ddouglas" and password "ddhs". Then, you will creating an account. Use your last name, first name, and the last two digits of your student id number. Use your id number for the password.
You will then complete the document entitled "Thinking About Me". You will be filling this out in Adobe Acrobat, saving it, and uploading it into your google docs...move the file to the shared folder you have.
Finally, please go to your "My Career Planning Portfolio", then go to "My Plan", then to the "Getting Started" tab, then "Who am I?", then "Interest Profiler".

First thing is first: Get onto your gmail account. In order to get there, you can go to the link on the ddhspages.net site. There, go to the "Sign In" link. You will be putting in your last name first name and last two digits of your student number for your user name and then your student id for your password. If that does not work, the you will have to use your own gmail account or create a new one. I will go over the steps to create shared folders with me.
Create a document entitled: "Article Reviews" and put in your shared folder. We will create a table and put in your reflections in them. A sample would be this so go ahead and look at it. Studies Find More Students Cheating, With High Achievers No Exception Read and respond to this. How were the students cheating? What were some of the causes of the cheating?
